According to Google in a Financial Times report, the iPhone is used for its web searches 50 times more than any other handset. This is great news for Apple who took a beating on release of the iPhone about the lack of 3G support in the device. Seemingly iPhone users are quite happy with Wi-Fi or a 2G experience.
Google will also be happy with these results as it continues its development of a Google Mobile Phone which is due for launch later this year.
It will be an interesting time for the established device makers like Nokia and Motorola as they work hard to establish their own service based organisations to deliver value added services to their devices. As 3 & Skype have shown though, it may be easier for a service company to release a device (3SkypePhone) than it is for a device manufacturer to launch and sustain services (Nokia N-Gage).
The next thing going hot on internet is voice over ip. Although it is facing some challenges but companies like vonage are doing great. The future of internet voip is looking bright as major it firms are getting together for its commercial value. Soon there will be internet phone system for every one at much affordable terms. Many online services like skype offer voip phone in their software. And to make it more cool skype download is free for every body.
